Clemons, Virginia Wickline

Virginia (Chris) Wickline Clemons of Peterstown, WV, went to be with the Lord on August 18, 2026. She was born August 22, 1934, in Lindside, WV, and was the daughter of the late Rexford Wickline and Dana Lafon Wickline. She was the oldest of eight children.

She was a 1952 graduate of Peterstown High School. She was a member of Rich Creek Church of God. She retired from the Celanese Corporation and also had driven the senior citizen transport bus for Monroe County. She loved animals, especially cats including her precious Miss Kitty.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by husbands, Gradey Massey and Curtis Clemons. Three brothers, Samuel Wickline, Marshall Wickline, and Ernest Wickline. One sister, Nancy Mann.

Left to cherish her memories are her three daughters, Connie Hedrick of Dublin, VA, Tommie Jane Billings of Greenville, WV, and Tammy Skelton (Benny) of Peterstown, WV. Five grandchildren, Misty King (Cliff), Jamie Hedrick, Adam Billings, Courtney Clark (Craig), and Whitney Tabor (Seth). Seven great-grandchildren, Scottie, Niki, Ashlyn, Kailee, Emma, Collin, and Gradey. One great-great grandchild, Tiffany. One brother, Paul Wickline (Merlene) of Bluewell, WV. Two sisters, Marie Braddock of Middletown, Delaware, and Lula Meadows (Larry) of Roanoke, VA, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 1:00PM to time of service at 2:00PM, with Pastors Paul Broyles and John Pena officiating. Burial will follow at Broyles Cemetery in Lindside, WV. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank the CNA’s and Nurses at Lindside Health Care Center for their love and care where she resided. And would also like to thank the med-surg unit at Giles hospital for the amazing care she received during her stay there.
