Claytor Reservoir Levels Being Lowered 2With the National Weather Service forecasting heavy rainfall over the next few days that could impact flows on the New River, Appalachian Power plans to start lowering the water levels at the Claytor Reservoir later today. APCo expects to reach its desired reservoir elevation of 1,844 feet by 7 a.m. tomorrow, June 18.
Now is the time for shoreline property owners to secure watercraft and floating docks.
