Buzbee, Gail Matteson

Gail Matteson Buzbee, 66 of Pilot, Virginia passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024 in the care of Lewis Gale Medical Center-Montgomery. Gail was born in Virginia on February 8, 1958 to the late Deak and Polly Tyree Matteson.

Gail would grow to be a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her best days were spent being devoted to, loving, and making memories with her children, grandchildren. She is survived by her loving son, Steven Matteson (Vanessa); daughters, Katelyn Rogers, and Linda Buzbee; grandchildren, Julianna Buzzby-Martin, Lyle-Ray Womack, Francesca Womack, Bailey Matteson, Peyton King, and Lucas Womack; brother, Jeff Matteson (Corey); sister, Tracy Clements (Alfred); and several nieces and nephews; to whom all of these lives were enriched by her presence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Deak and Polly Matteson; as well as her daughter whom she loved with her whole heart, Julie Stern.

Gail found peace and joy in entertaining her family with special recipes found and sharing them on cards, or what she had to grant others the opportunity to assist their own families. She would find a validation and vibrancy in life by listening as she would listen to in instrumentation and vocals of a good bluegrass song. Her entertainment could also be found as she watched Judge Judy arbitrate cases with her down-to-earth platform; or as she watched relationships in watching 90-day fiancé.
