Bradley, Wesley Eugene

Bradley, Wesley Eugene 2With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Wesley Eugene Bradley, a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Wes, a radiant soul who touched the lives of so many, passed away on February 17, 2025. Born on April 10, 1973, in Radford, Virginia, to Dorsey and Deloris Bradley, he lived a life defined by love—love for his family, his friends, his community, and the animals that brought him so much joy.

Wes was a devoted husband and best friend to his soulmate, Tammy Bradley, with whom he shared 29 beautiful years of marriage in their home in Glen Lyn, Virginia. His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He was the cherished son of Dorsey Bradley (Nicky Fleshman) of Rich Creek, VA, and the adored little brother of Jennifer Lentner (Monte) of Newport, VA. His heart extended even further as a devoted brother-in-law to Heather Gillespie (Kaleb) and Kimberly Dalton (Shane), whom he lovingly called his “little sisters.” One of his greatest joys was being an uncle to Tristan Gillespie (Tiara), Wyatt Taylor, and Hayden Gillespie. Wes was preceded in death by his mother, Delores Bradley, his brother, Tony Bradley, and his beloved grandparents, Dorsey T. and Madaline D. Bradley, and C. Malcolm and Opal Scott.

A man of great dedication and integrity, Wes served his community as a proud Law Enforcement Officer with the Giles County Sheriff’s Department. His 16-year career in law enforcement included seven years as a Correctional Officer at Bland Correctional Facility, one year as Glen Lyn Chief of Police, and eight years with the Giles County Sheriff’s Department. In addition to his service in law enforcement, Wes was a dedicated member of the Rich Creek Volunteer Fire Department for 16 years, always ready to lend a hand to those in need. One of his most distinguished moments as a Law Enforcement Officer was being honored by the Town of Pembroke for saving two individuals from drowning after a car crash—a testament to his courage, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to protecting others. His absence will be profoundly felt not only by his family and friends but also by his colleagues and the citizens of Giles County, where he made an indelible impact.

Beyond his career, Wes had a deep passion for animals. His two Dobermans, Zeus and Nova, were his Velcro-babies, and he was so proud of them and their training. His kitties, Stormy, Tater-Tot, and his baby girl, Luna, were his constant lap companions. He found peace in the simple moments—sitting on his backyard swing, watching the deer, and enjoying the serenity of nature.

Those who knew Wes will remember him as a family man first—a kind, thoughtful, and selfless soul who found his greatest joy in spending time with Tammy. He had an infectious sense of humor, always the jokester, bringing smiles and laughter wherever he went. His deep love for music and playing his electric guitar, along with his passion for firearms, reflected his many talents and interests. Wes had a way of lighting up any room with his energy, generosity, and warm spirit.

Wesley Eugene Bradley leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering kindness. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Though he is no longer physically with us, the impact he made and the love he shared will never fade.

Rest easy, Wes. Your watch is over, but your light will never dim.

The family will receive family and friends in a time of visitation on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Riverview Baptist Church, in Ripplemead, VA, with a Law Enforcement Memorial Service/Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Terry Easter officiating.
