Bond, Eunice Gearhart
Eunice Elizabeth Gearhart Bond, of Christiansburg, VA went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2023. Eunice was a servant of God, devoted wife, loving mother, Grandma, and “Sweetie”. She was born on July 7, 1933 to the late Russell and Nanola (McGinnnis) Gearhart.
Eunice retired from Montgomery County Public Schools and was a devoted member of Oak Grove Church. She loved flower gardening and picnics with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William Lee Bond Jr., her sister, Nancy Gearhart Flinchum, and son-in-law, James Alwin Wimmer.
Eunice is survived by her children, Kaye Bond, Joy Wimmer, and Wendell (Jamie) Bond; her grandchildren, James “Chris” (Shay) Adkins, Danielle Wimmer, Brittany Wimmer, Wesley (Ashley) Bond, Winston Bond, Abbigail Bond and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Eugene “Pete” Flinchum; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Sheffer; and sister-in-law Geraldine Dider.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023 from 6 to 8 pm at Horne Funeral Home, 1300 N. Franklin Street Christiansburg, VA 24073. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 1pm, at Horne Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.

Thanks so much Donna. You are such a blessing and a wonderful friend. I’ve thought of you so often over the days and of how sweet you are. I’m so glad I took that picture of you and momma the last day you were here. It is a great picture of you both. I so appreciate your loving care! ♥️♥️♥️

I had the pleasure of being her nurse and friend. Such a sweet, kind “ young lady “. I loved visiting with her, she always had a smile even when she felt bad. I know she’s not in pain anymore, she can eat whatever she wants and doesn’t have to worry about weighing herself anymore. Love you Miss Bond.
