Art Happens Here: NRV Edition 2The YMCA at Virginia Tech proudly announces Exploring Art in the NRV, a community wide exhibition celebrating the extraordinary creativity, diversity, and artistic vibrancy of the New River Valley. The exhibition will run from Monday, March 2, 2026 through Friday, April 10, 2026 at the Y Community Art Gallery, located at 1000 N. Main Street, Blacksburg.
Exploring Art in the NRV brings together an exceptional network of galleries, studios, creative businesses, educators, and artists who help shape the cultural landscape of the region. This collaborative show invites the public to discover the depth and richness of the New River Valley’s art ecosystem—one defined by innovation, inclusion, and a commitment to community connection.
Rooted in the YMCA’s mission to support the spirit, mind, and body of all individuals, the exhibition highlights the creative energy that strengthens wellbeing and fosters belonging. By showcasing artwork gathered from a diverse range of contributing partners, the exhibit underscores the NRV as a place where art thrives and where people of all ages and backgrounds can engage meaningfully with the arts.
