Arrest in Stabbing and Robbery Case

On February 1, 2026, at approximately 8:45 p.m., officers with the Radford Police Department responded to the 200 block of Second Street in reference to a reported physical altercation. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim who was suffering from multiple stab wounds. The suspect had fled the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival.
As a result of a thorough investigation, Corey Edward Carter was identified as the suspect in this incident. On February 9, 2026, with the assistance of the United States Marshals Service, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police and officers with the Radford Police Department located and arrested Carter.
Corey Edward Carter, age 56, of Pulaski, was charged with the following offenses:
Code of Virginia § 18.2-51.2 – Aggravated Malicious Wounding
Code of Virginia § 18.2-58 – Robbery
Carter is being held without bond at the New River Valley Regional Jail. No further information will be released at this time.
