A Commitment to Protecting the Second Amendment

“As I continue to share my vision for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, I want to address an issue that is important to many citizens in our community—the right to keep and bear arms.

I am a longtime member and instructor for the National Rifle Association (NRA) and a proud member of the Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL), and I strongly believe in the constitutional rights guaranteed to citizens by the Second Amendment.

During my years in law enforcement, I have seen firsthand how quickly situations can become unpredictable. Throughout my career, I have had encounters on and off duty that have reminded me how important it is for individuals to be able to protect themselves and their families. No one should have to feel vulnerable or defenseless.

The Second Amendment allows law-abiding citizens the right to defend themselves, their families, and their communities.

As Sheriff, I will always support and uphold the constitutional rights of the citizens of Montgomery County.
