Wofter, Jr., Charles William

Charles “Chuck” William Wofter, Jr. 66 of Pearisburg, VA., passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. Chuck was born on August 6, 1960, in Zanesville, OH, and was a son of the late Donita May Burgess Kinney and Charles William Wofter, Sr. of Newark, OH.

Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by 3 children, Heather Wofter, Vickie Williams, Robin Moore and his brother, Keith Wofter and his stepfather, Lester Kinney

Chuck moved to Pearisburg in 1988 and was a laborer at many different jobs in the area. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, spending time with his family and his cats, Abby and Roo. He loved listening to classic rock music and watching NASCAR racing, especially Jeff Gordon.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Holton of Pearisburg, children, Tyler Wofter (Emily Thorne) of Pearisburg, Emily Wofter (Tyler Smith) of Newport, Justin Moore, Tommy Sharrer, Charles Williams, William Wofter, Shannon Perkins, Christina Scott, sister, Kim Pusok and numerous grandchildren, especially Boden Smith

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 16, 2026, at 11am at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg, VA with Pastor Tim Smith officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour before the service from 10 – 11am.
