Blacksburg Flood Resilience Plan Survey

The Town of Blacksburg has partnered with engineering consulting firm AECOM to develop a Flood Resilience Plan that will guide plans for reducing flood risk and better prepare our community for future flooding. The plan will identify areas of Blacksburg that are vulnerable to flooding, prioritize projects to address those risks, and outline strategies to help the Town prepare for, respond to, and recover from flood events.
If you have experienced flooding at your home, business, or anywhere along your regular travel routes, we want to hear from you. Your input will help staff better understand where flooding occurs and identify areas that may require additional data collection, flood studies, or flood mitigation projects.
To contribute your experiences and insight to this project, please visit Let’s Talk Blacksburg to take the Flood Resilience Plan survey and log your observations on a Flood Experience Map. This survey will be available until November 6, 2026 at 5pm.
Additionally, the community is invited to attend a public input meeting with the project team to discuss survey findings, to hear more about this project on Thursday, October 29 from 5-7pm at the Blacksburg Community Center.
