Janney, Jerry E.

Jerry E. Janney, 83, of Narrows, VA, died on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at his home after a long illness. Born October 28, 1942, in Narrows, VA, he was the son of the late Dave and Iline Janney.

He was retired from Celanese after 42 years of service. He was a member of New Zion Regular Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Robert Janney; sisters, Bobbie Snidow, Gloria Woods, and Dinah Pettrey; mother-in-law, Lois Thompson, whom he dearly loved; grandson, Devon Chey Janney; and granddaughter, Raegan Page Janney.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 32 years, Drema Janney; daughter, Sherry Miller (Jimmy); brother-in-law, Jimmy Snidow; special sister and brother-in-law, Carol and James McKenzie; grandchildren, Jerrod Miller (Daniella), Trenton Miller (Kathryn), Sierra Clemons, Robert Gage Janney, Joey Eades (Briana), and Austin Eades; great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Gunner, and Maddie Clemons; Hadley Paige Miller, Caden Paul Miller, and Jamie Beth Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Carilion Clinic Hospice for the excellent care they provided Jerry and the family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Shawn Murnahan officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows, VA. Visitation will be held from 12:00PM until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
