Sweeney, Kevin Wayne
Kevin Wayne Sweeney, 60 of Floyd, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026 with his loving family by his side. He is preceded in death by his father, Timmy Sweeney.
Kevin is lovingly remembered by his faithful, devoted wife of 26 years, Teresa Mitchell Sweeney; his sons, Christopher (Heather) Sweeney and Ryan (Kelly) Baker; his cherished grandchildren, Emmarae, Cheyenne, and Owen Sweeney, and Tulson, Walt, and Ella Baker; his mother, Lela (Dean) Hogan; sister, Patti Sweeney; brother, Michael (Melina) Sweeney; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob & Linda Mitchell; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sherry & Randy Quesenberry; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren with Pastor Roy Turpin and Michael Sweeney officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at the church.

Such a precious young man. I drove his school bus for awhile. A few years. Never any trouble out of him. Had such dreamy eyes. I knew most of his family. They were such a good family. Michael was also a sweet child. I wondered what became of them. I’m terribly sorry to hear about his death – too young to go like that.
