Stafford, Jr., Luther Bane

Luther Bane Stafford, Jr., 67 of Pearisburg, VA. went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at his home. Bane was born on October 27, 1958, in Pearisburg and was a son of Eleanor Woodyard Stafford and the late Luther Bane Stafford, Sr. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a special cousins, Susan Sadler and Dottie King.

Bane was born and raised on the family farm on Sugar Run outside of Pearisburg. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and shooting. He loved his family, grandchildren and friends. He was a retired employee of the Celanese Corp. in Narrows with over 30 years of service.

Besides his mother Eleanor, he is survived by the mother of Michael and Shane, Kathy Stafford of Pearisburg, Michael Bane Stafford (Aimee) of Crafton, MD, Shane Stafford (Jessica) of Pearisburg, 3 grandchildren, Jacob Stafford, Ella Stafford, Weston Stafford, and special cousins, Rick Stafford (Robin), Sherry Legard and Linda Grissom (Kevin) and her son, Stephen Grissom and Susan Sadler’s daughter, Amanda Osborne (Nick) and Susan’s husband William Sadler and special friends, W.T. Price, Dooley Price and their family and cousins, Diane Capps and Connie Turlington.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 7pm at the Thesslia Church in (Sugar Run) Pearisburg, VA., with Charles Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church 1 hour before the service from 6 – 7pm. A private family burial will follow on Friday at 10am at the Peck Cemetery (Sugar Run)
