Beck, Steven Lee

Steven Lee Beck, born January 22, 1962 died suddenly on June 18, 2026 while vacationing in Va Beach. He was the son of the late Philip and Audrey Beck and grew up in Suffolk, VA.

Steve was a proud member of Boy Scout Troop 1, where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. The skills and values he learned in scouting guided his life and helped him cope with a debilitating illness later in life. He was an avid hiker and camper, who also enjoyed woodworking, construction and traveling. Steve enjoyed a long career as a Licensed Professional Counselor, where he helped many with his wit and wisdom. With friends and family, he was kind, compassionate and generous. He was a devoted husband and beloved uncle.

He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Brenda, brother Barry Beck (Kelly,) nieces and nephews: Charles Coulter, Anne Beatty (Tyler,) Margo Beatty, Jason Delafield, Evan Delafield, Katie George (Caleb,), Erin Beck (Ellis,) Molly Lerche (Michael) and Emily Cushwa (Jack.)

We are so grateful that he is not suffering and he will be sorely missed. Friends are invited to join the family at home on Saturday, June 27 2026 from 1 to 5 pm, to share our sadness and our memories.
