Shepherd, Kenneth Gilmer

Kenneth Gilmer Shepherd, 78, of London, Ohio went to his heavenly home on October 9, 2024. He was born in Radford, VA on May 5 1946 to the late John and Lucille Shepherd.

Kenneth was a 1969 graduate of Virginia Tech and a lifelong Hokie fan. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Kenneth and his wife moved to Arizona in 2007 to be closer to their grandchildren, Carly and Samuel. After a few years, more grandchildren came along, first John and then twins, Connor and Nora. They split their time between Arizona and Ohio to spend as much time as possible with all of them.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carolyn Crawford Shepherd; Daughters: Kimberly Fairburn (Tom), Kara Clancy (John); Grandchildren: Carly, Samuel, John, Connor, and Nora; Brothers: Bruce (Margaret), Richard (Ann), Dickie (Fran), John (Crystal); Sisters: Amanda Thomas and Janie Shepherd Smith.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 – 7:00 on Wednesday October 16th. A memorial service will be held on Thursday October 17th at 11:30 at the McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg, VA with interment at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery immediately following.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
