10/19: Chili Cook-off Fundraiser
It’s official! Tickets to Volunteer Montgomery’s very first Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser are now available!
Please join us on Oct. 19th, at 10 a.m., in the Montgomery County Government Center as we bring the community out and together for this fun-filled event! We have 16 wonderful Chili Cooks, ranging from individuals in our community to local businesses, restaurants, and organizations, who will be competing for who can make the best chili, take home an award, and win the ultimate bragging rights for winning our first Chili Cook-Off!
Our 2024 Chili Cooks are: Downtown Christiansburg Inc., Waters Productions, The Montgomery Museum’s Emerging Leaders Advisory Board, Good Samaritan Advanced Illness Care/Hospice, The Maroon Door, The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, Zeppoli’s, Gardner’s Grill, NRV BBQ, Cindy and Bill Turner representing Blacksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, Susan Miller, Erica Carr, Faith Taylor, Amy Webb, Richard Breen, and Daniel Shifflett.
Similar to Volunteer Montgomery, it is many of our Chili Cook’s first time participating in a chili cook-off, so be sure to come out and support those in our community who are participating, support Volunteer Montgomery in fundraising for our many programs and opportunities, as well connecting with those in our wonderful community!
A big “thank you” to our sponsors for this event, who will also be our chili judges: NRV Building Supply, Commonwealth Senior Living, and Lost in Taste.
Tickets to our Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser provide each ticket-holder with the opportunity to taste-test each of our 16 chilis, as well as one vote for their personal favorite. These votes will determine who wins People’s Choice, and extra votes will be available for $1. Our three judges will determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Complimentary cornbread will be provided by Lost in Taste, and we will have drinks available for $1.
