9/17: Hunter Education Course
The Virginia Basic Hunter Education course is required for first time hunters prior to purchasing a hunting license. Hunter safety courses became mandatory in 1988 and have reduced the number of hunting related incidents by 25%. Students who successfully complete a written test at the conclusion of the course will receive a certificate and card for use when purchasing their hunting license.
The course will be held on Sunday, September 17 from 1-7pm in the multipurpose room at the Blacksburg Community Center and is available to individuals 11 and up. The cost is $5. To register, visit the link below or call 540-443-1100 or 540-443-1140.
