$3,279,104 HHS Grant to Tri-Area Community Health
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded Tri-Area Community Health, based in Laurel Fork, Virginia, a grant of $3,279,104. The funding supports operations of local health centers. In response to this grant notice, U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:
“Access to local health care centers benefits rural communities in Virginia’s Ninth District.
“This HHS grant for more than $3.2 million helps this community health care center deliver health care access in Virginia’s Ninth District.”
BACKGROUND
Tri-Area Community Health administers services at locations in Laurel Fork, Ferrum, Floyd, Fries, Galax, Troutdale, Hillsville and Cana.
The awarding office of this grant is the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
As a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Congressman Griffith serves as the Chairman of the Health Subcommittee.
