$2,927,304 DOT Grant for VT Montgomery Executive Airport
The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded the following grant to an airport in Virginia’s Ninth District:
$2,927,304 to the Virginia Tech Montgomery Regional Airport Authority to rehabilitate existing apron pavement and paved taxiway at Virginia Tech Montgomery Executive Airport in Blacksburg, Virginia
In response to this grant notice, U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:
“Airport projects in Virginia’s Ninth District that receive federal support are important investments.
“This DOT grant for more than $2.9 million helps deliver improved conditions to a critical Ninth District airport.”
BACKGROUND
This grant money was made available through the FAA Fiscal Year 2026 Airport Improvement Program.
