$288,986 to Blacksburg’s Biotherapeutics, Inc.
The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, one of the institutes that make up the National Institutes of Health, has awarded $288,986 to Biotherapeutics, Inc., located in Blacksburg, Virginia, for lung disease research as it relates to asthma. According to the American Lung Association, more than twenty-five million Americans live with asthma. Of those affected, somewhere between one and two million people suffer from severe asthma. U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:
“Our medical community continues to look for innovative treatments to address asthma, a condition that affects millions of Americans.
“This grant for nearly $300,000 helps Biotherapeutics develop more treatments for people who struggle with asthma.”
