12/9: Green and Gold Gala 4At 6:00 p.m. on December 9, 2023, the Christiansburg Institute Alumni Association, Inc. (CIAA) will gather at The Highlander Hotel in Radford, VA for their first annual Green and Gold Gala. This event celebrates their 45th anniversary and will officially launch “Homecoming 2027.” This campaign will raise the funds needed to put the historic Edgar A. Long Building back in service to the community for its 100th anniversary by February 7, 2027.

“The support we’ve received for our first Green and Gold Gala has been tremendous. Over 80 individuals and businesses in the New River Valley and beyond have given generously to make this event a success. All proceeds from the evening will go directly into our Building & Grounds fund. On Saturday night, we celebrate our 45th anniversary and our commitment to the journey toward being able to re-open the Edgar A. Long Building by 2027,” said Davina Irvin, CIAA, Inc. President, a Christiansburg native, and 3rd generation descendant of Christiansburg Institute teachers and students.

Members of the press are invited to meet and greet the new Board of Directors from 5:15 PM to 6:00 PM and to learn more about “Homecoming 2027” from the men and women who attended school at Christiansburg Institute.
