Your Input is Welcome: Hazard Mitigation Plan
The New River Valley Regional Commission is seeking community input to develop mitigation plans for future natural and human-caused disaster hazards in our region.
Hazard mitigation is any sustainable action that reduces or eliminates long-term risk to people and property from future natural disasters. Mitigation planning breaks the cycle of disaster damage, reconstruction and repeated damage – saving lives, protecting property, and keeping a community functioning after a natural and human-caused disaster.
