YMCA Annual Holiday Tea

The YMCA at Virginia Tech welcomed community members to its annual Holiday Tea, a beloved seasonal tradition that brought warmth, elegance, and holiday cheer to the historic Lancaster House.

The house was transformed into an inviting gathering space with thoughtfully arranged seating and festively set tables. Once guests were seated, servers brought out large teapots filled with hot water, inviting everyone to begin their tea experience together. Each table shared a curated selection of teas, offering a variety of flavors ranging from classic blends to refreshing peppermint and other seasonal favorites.

As the afternoon unfolded, elegant, tiered trays of sweet and savory dishes were served. Guests enjoyed fresh vegetables, savory egg and cheese muffins, sandwiches, blueberry scones, and an assortment of desserts including small éclairs and Victoria Sandwich cakes. The chicken curry sandwich quickly became a crowd favorite. The event was made possible by the hard work and creativity of YMCA at Virginia Tech interns, who prepared the food, along with a dedicated group of volunteers made up of both students and community members.

The Holiday Tea brought together longtime Y supporters, families with children, couples, friends, and community members of all ages, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere filled with conversation and connection.
More than just an afternoon of tea, the event supported the YMCA at Virginia Tech’s mission to strengthen the community. Proceeds from the Holiday Tea benefited YMCA programs including Meals on Main, the Corner Market, International Programming, and After School programs.
