Winterfest in Radford
The New River City will be celebrating the holidays this year in some new and innovative ways and you are invited! Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our citizens and visitors, many of our annual traditions and special events have been reimagined so that everyone can celebrate the season as safely as possible.
Winterfest in Radford will include numerous events that will be held virtually and in-person and will occur during the winter months. Due to the changing climate of the COVID pandemic, attendees are encouraged to confirm dates and times prior to the event and masks will be required at the in-person events.
Scheduled Winterfest activities include:
December 6-Holiday Pop Up Market at the NRVCS Lot, Noon-4PM, 401 W. Main St, local craft vendors and carolers will set up outside in socially distant spaces, sponsored by Mountain Trotter Arts
December 8-Virtual Tree Lighting, 6:30PM, Facebook Live/Radford Public Library
December 9-22-Business window and residential decorating contest throughout the city, entry fees apply, grab dinner and then tour the commercial districts and neighborhoods from the safety of your own car and then be sure to vote for your favorites, map on RadfordChamber.com
December 13-Santa’s Police Cruise, begins at 3PM, Santa cruises throughout Radford neighborhoods, map on RadfordVA.gov, sponsored by the City of Radford Police Department
December 14-Handcrafted Holiday Night Market, Triangle Lot, W. Main Street, 5-8PM, featuring Java Brothers and local vendors, sponsored by Mountain Trotter Arts and the Radford Info & Welcome Center
December 17-Christmas Cruise Thru, 6-8PM, Radford Rec Center, 200 George Street, car decorating contest and holiday treats, applications can be found on RadfordVA.gov
December 1 through February 5-Exhibit at Glencoe Mansion, “Misfits, Ghosts and Goblins”, Tue-Sat 10AM-4PM, Sun 1-4PM, 600 Unruh Drive, free admission
December 1 through 24-Grab & Go Crafts and virtual Holiday Storytimes at the Radford Public Library, various dates/times, call 540-731-3621 to schedule an appointment or use My Library app
