WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS EVENING…

WHAT…Freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations around a light glaze.

WHERE…Portions of north central and northwest North Carolina and southwest and west central Virginia.

WHEN…Until 7 PM EST this evening.

IMPACTS…Elevated surfaces may become coated with a light glaze. Ice may also form on sidewalks, untreated roads and bridges making them slippery.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Rain and freezing rain will spread into western North Carolina and southwest Virginia this morning. The higher elevations will have the greatest chance for seeing some icing. Freezing rain will change to rain by afternoon as temperatures rise into the mid to upper 30s.
