Wine, Mary Dickenson

Mary Ann Wine, 74, of Christiansburg, VA left this world on Monday, August 26, 2024. Born in Aberdeen, MD on September 27, 1949, to Robert and Eleanor Dickenson, Mary Ann grew up at home and abroad alongside her brothers, Bob and Ross.

Mary Ann graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in 1971 and reached the rank of First lieutenant in the United States Army. She later worked at the Internal Revenue Service for thirty years and retired in 2005. She enjoyed traveling the world with family, cheering on her Hokies and Braves, and spending time with her children and much- loved grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Leslie Wine. She is survived by her children, Matthew (Tamara) Warzecha, Nicole (Allen) Moore, Lisa Eason, and John (Faith) Wine; grandchildren, Cole (Kari) Eason, John Wesley Wine, Alexa Moore, Jackson Wine, Lana Moore, Jace Wine, Peyton Warzecha, and Jonah Wine; brothers, Robert (Scottie) Dickenson, Ross (Sandy) Dickenson; and cousins, Eleanor Whitney and Ann (Dan) Rhudy.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 7 at 2 p.m. at the chapel at Horne Funeral Home. Please donate to your veteran’s charity of choice in lieu of flowers.
