Affected Area: The foothills of Virginia west to the mountains of southwest Virginia and northwest North Carolina, and the Greenbrier Valley

WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 4 AM EDT MONDAY…

WHAT…West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.

WHERE…The foothills of Virginia west to the mountains of southwest Virginia and northwest North Carolina, and the Greenbrier Valley.

WHEN…From 1 PM this afternoon to 4 AM EDT Monday.

IMPACTS…Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs and weaker trees could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS…A few gusts over 60 mph will be possible at elevations above 3500 feet, especially across the North Carolina mountains and Alleghanys of Virginia.
