Whitescarver, Marijane Taylor
Marijane Taylor Whitescarver, 90, of Christiansburg passed away February 25, 2024. She was born on May 16, 1933 to the late, John Taylor, Sr. and Lucille Taylor.
Marijane worked at Radford Army Ammunition Plant and for the Forestry Department at Virginia Tech, where she became an avid Hokie fan. She loved her family at St. Jude Catholic Church. She used her love of cardmaking to bless many parishioners with a handmade birthday card each year.
Including her parents, Marijane was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis P. Whitescarver; son, Mark S. Whitescarver; and brother, John Taylor, Jr. She is survived by, her daughters and sons-in-law, Terry & Mike Griffith and Sandy & Jim Perkinson; son, Phillip Whitescarver; grandchildren, Michelle Lyle, Travis Griffith, Noelle Campbell, Molly Camper, and Nathan Perkinson; great grandchildren, Jordan Williamson, Keaton Lyle, Carly Griffith, Claire Griffith, Tristan Allen Campbell, Jackson Riley Camper, and Hudson James Perkinson; and nephew, Patrick Taylor.
The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice, Blue Ridge Cancer Care, caregivers (Carmen, Brooklyn, Karen & Denise), and special neighbors (Myrle & Debbie) for the care and compassion shown to their mother. The family will receive friends from 1-2 on Friday, March 1 at St. Jude Catholic Church. Funeral services will follow at 2p.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family asks you make donations to St. Jude Catholic Church, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or Good Samaritan Hospice.
