Weiss, Lacy Dean

Lacy Dean “Mutt” Weiss, 81, of Barberton, OH, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on September 16, 2025. He was born in Ballard, WV on August 12, 1944. Lacy was a 1962 graduate of Peterstown High School in Peterstown, WV, and is a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Lacy was preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret (Helvey) Weiss; his son, Jason Weiss, and his sisters Bernice (Shirley) Harris, Susan Ann Weiss, and Mary Josephine Weiss.

Lacy is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; children Michael (Melissa) Weiss, Mark Weiss, Michelle (Shawn) Powell, John (Dalia) Khoury; daughter-in-law Joan Weiss; grandchildren Jared (Lauren) Weiss, Emily (Eduardo) De La Torre, Kayla and Jenna Weiss, Sarah (Dustin) Lemmon, Jared Bittinger, Isabella Powell, Joseph, Isaac, and Joanna Khoury; great-grandchildren Amos and Adele Weiss, and Lucy Lemmon; siblings Philip (Janet) Weiss, Estil Weiss, Tracy (Bonnie) Weiss, Richard (Diane) Weiss, Elizabeth (Ken) Grant, Janet (Dickie) Meadows and their families.

Lacy’s favorite past-times were spending time with his family, especially the grandkids, and watching his westerns, like Gunsmoke.

Per Lacy’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held in his honor on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at Bethel Chapel, 1402 Clendennin Road, Narrows, VA.
