Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) 4The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, administered by the IRS, began after the Tax Reform Act of 1969, and was passed as part of an increased emphasis on taxpayer education. We provide free tax assistance for the elderly, disabled, and those making generally less than $60,000 a year. We take special care in making sure all possible Tax deductions are claimed and filed in a timely manner. VITA serves 3,000,000 taxpayers annually.

Volunteers Needed: Our Volunteers are trained, and IRS certified for free though our program. Our Volunteers may hold many different titles such as Greeter, Screener, Tax Preparer, Quality Reviewer, etc. We provide tax assistance from February through April and have three different sites we operate from. IRS-certified employees help hardworking taxpayers keep more of their money. If you would like to become a Volunteer, please contact mmoulder@nrcaa.org or call 540-320-3217.
