Virginia Native Plant Society Fundraiser and Grant Offer

The New River Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society is happy to announce that we are conducting our Fifth Annual Native Plant Sale on Saturday, June 10, 9:30am – 1:30pm. The public will be welcome to plant Milkweed/Asclepias Syrica seeds to grow at home and Storytime with Joelle will be at 1:00pm for children.

Location: SEEDS Blacksburg Nature Center, Price House, 107 Wharton St, SE, Blacksburg (corner of Lee and Wharton Streets). Parking is at the United Methodist Church parking lot.

In addition to our other activities we also offer Youth Grants to pre-K – 12 and undergraduate or graduate students, or any public non-profit youth group. The grants are educational for the purpose of installing native plant gardens or restoring natural ecosystems through the removal of invasive species and incorporation of plants native to Virginia. Application deadlines are June 30 and September 30.
