Trivette, Alvin Wayne

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”

Alvin Wayne Trivette, age 68, of Narrows,Virginia, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning, January 30, 2019, at Carilion Giles Community Hospital after a long and courageous battle against cancer. He was born April 6, 1950, to Basil Benjamin Trivette and Letha Mae Boothe Trivette. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to many.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Ann McClaugherty of King, NC, and his granddaughter Nicole Trivette Stanton of San Dimas, CA.

Survivors include his loving wife of 26 years, Judy Boothe Trivette of Narrows, Va; his father, Basil (Lila) Trivette of Peterstown; a son, Alvin (Venissa) Trivette of West Covina, CA; a daughter, Rose Marie (Jon) Pedroza of Montclair, CA; a stepdaughter, Melanie Vaught of Narrows, Va; a stepson. Keith (April) Vaught of Trigg, Va; a sister, Carolyn Sue (Lee) Cregger of Narrows, sister Linda (Joe) Hazelwood of Lindside, WV, sister Derhonda (Lewis) Buckland of Bozoo, WV; 10 grandchildren, Jacob, Andrew, Nicholas, Ace, Kayla, Logan (Lisa), River, Zachary, Amari, and Gracie; five great-grandchildren, Nixon, Evalynn, Brayden, Lincoln, and Hallea Mae; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alvin was a devoted servant of the Lord. He was a member of the Kellysville Church of God and a Pastor for 6 years at Sinking Creek Mountain Assembly in Pembroke, Va. Alvin proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 6 pm at Kellysville Church of God with Rev. Franklin Atkins and Rev. Doug Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 4 to 6 pm at the church prior to the funeral service. Burial will be on Sunday, February 3, 2019, at 3 pm in the Peterstown Cemetery. The Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke is in charge of the arrangements.
