Carl Leon Thompson, 67, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, after a long-fought illness, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 22,1958 in Giles County, the son of the late Clarence & Nancy Thompson.

Carl was a tender-hearted, adored and treasured family member.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Clifford & Nancy Ellen Holt Thompson, his brother, Clarence Walter Thompson and his nephew, Gary Lawson.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving girlfriend and companion, Helen Myers; his children Travis Thompson and Michelle Thompson and their families; Helen’s daughter, Amy McGeorge and her family; a special aunt, Evelyn Thompson; special niece, Melissa Thompson; his sister-in-law, Capris (“Cappy”) Shelton; and many cousins, extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Everyone is to meet at the funeral home by 10:45 A.M. and we will go in procession to the cemetery.
