Synstad, Maxine Webb
Maxine Webb Synstad, age 84, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2024. Born on April 4, 1940, in Montgomery County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late L. Stanley and Verda Webb. Maxine was the beloved wife of Alvin “Sonny” Synstad, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.
In 1956, Maxine made a lifelong commitment to serve the Lord, a choice she honored throughout her life. Together with Sonny, they opened their home for Bible studies on Sundays and Wednesdays, fostering a welcoming environment for fellowship with workers and friends. Maxine was also an avid painter, sharing her love of art by teaching classes at the assisted living facility where she resided.
Maxine is survived by her two sons, Layne (Sandi) Synstad and Sheldon Synstad; her grandchildren, Evan (Ally) Synstad, Chelsea (Hunter) Greenstreet, and Savanna Synstad; and her great-grandchildren, Peyton, Beckham, Piper, Lacey, and Baylor. She is also survived by her brother, Gary (Denise) Webb, and their family.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate team at The Wellington at Lake Manassas for their devoted care of Maxine during the past three years. She formed close bonds with both residents and staff, creating lasting memories in her final years.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by ministers Jim Holt and Deborah Wentz. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Blacksburg. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
