Stephens, Clyde Wayne

Clyde (C.W.) Wayne Stephens, 76, of Pearisburg, VA, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024 at his home. He was born on June 26, 1947 in Pearisburg, VA, the son of the late Clyde & Rhoda Stephens.

C.W. was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and retired after 20+ years of service. He worked briefly in security at the Radford Arsenal and as a dispatcher for the Giles County Sheriff’s Department. He retired from Corning and later worked in real estate with his wife.

C.W. loved to read. He enjoyed hiking and spending time on the Appalachian Trail. He also enjoyed coin collecting.

C.W. was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde A. & Rhoda Ellen Sadler Stephens and his wife of 48 years, Irma Loya Stephens.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Orlando Stephens, Richard Stephens, Alexia Williams and William (“Julio”) & Amanda Stephens; his grandchildren, whom he loved very much, Taylor Williams, Noah Stephens, Christian Stephens and Grayson Stephens; his great-grandchildren, Addison Blose and Sienna Blose; his sister & brother-in-law, Judy & Edwin Hutchison; and his special pet companion, “Annie.”

Per his wishes, he will be cremated. A private memorial service is planned for a later date. He will be inurned at the Southwest Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery.
