Stanger, Betty Ferrell

Betty Sue Ferrell Stanger, 84 originally of New Castle, VA, but more recently of Roanoke, VA, passed away October 16, 2024.

Betty was a labor and delivery nurse for her entire career that spanned 40 years at Radford Hospital and Carilion Roanoke Memorial. She attended Edgewood Christian Church and enjoyed her flowers and taking care of them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Stanger; mother, Grace Dexter Hutchison Ferrell Miller; father, John Wesley Ferrell; sister, Nora Bell; and brother-in-law, Curtis Spangler.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Kathy Burroughs (Tim); sister, Lucille Spangler; brother-in-law, Eddie Bell; numerous nieces and nephews she considered so special as well as great-nieces and nephews; special friend, Debbie Martin; and her grand dog, Abbey.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 4-6 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 1 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Billy Frazier officiating. Interment will follow in Belmont Cemetery.
