Standoff ends in surrender in Giles County
A man who held police at bay in Eggleston has surrendered to authorities and is in police custody. Police responded this evening to a residence on Church Hill Street in Eggleston for reports of the shooting of a man and a dog. The shooter, who was allegedly drunk, refused to come out of the home. A tactical team was at the scene, and authorities called on the State Police SWAT team out of Wytheville. There were reportedly no deaths in this incident.
