Stancil, Gary R.

Gary R. Stancil, 72, of Christiansburg passed away on April 19, 2024 at his home in Christiansburg. Gary loved to ride motorcycles, was an avid foodie, and always had a smile on his face. He was always tenderhearted toward animals. As a last act of love, he has donated his pacemaker to go into a dog.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Dorothy Stancil and nephew, Nathan Stancil. He is survived by his wife, Chandra Stancil; children, Eric Stancil, Trina Finley (Ricky), and A.J. Stancil (Becky); grandchildren, Stephen, Taylor, Cassidy, Alexis, Marcus, Stephanie, Tyler, Sean, Kyle, and Kayleigh; great grandchild, Zakai; brother, Steve Stancil; sister-in-law, Sheri Sutton; nephew, Chad Stancil; niece, Sami Moores (Jonathan); great nieces, Sasha and Scarlet; special cousin, Petey Reynolds; his four-legged companions, Nellie, Aubie, Luna, and Jack the cat; and many other extended family members.

The family would like to thank Dr. Greg Beato and Good Samaritan Hospice for their dedicated care. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 27 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with officiating. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter in Gary’s name.
