Spangler, Sandra LynnOur GaGa, 77 years old, Narrows VA, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, after battling Parkinson’s Disease for 2 short years. She was Salutatorian of Narrows High School, Class of 1965.

After attending college, she worked several places before finding her dream job. She retired in 2009 from Giles County Public Schools as Business Manager with 33 years of hard work and dedication where her work friends became family.

Sandra loved the Lord and served Him well. She created the first NEMS Backpack Program which has lasted for many years and helped numerous families. She also helped serve on the Giles County Christian Mission Board and volunteered with the NHS Summer Food Program earning the nickname “warden”. She was a member of United We Stand Ministries in Rich Creek where she loved to worship and help others.

Born to Eugene and Betty Hale Spangler on April 25, 1947, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cis Pack, niece Stephanie Pack Bryant, and nephew Chip Pack. Survivors include husband Danny Evans, daughter Christy Broyles Lawson (John), son Norman Broyles (Jill), 3 grandchildren Brianna Lawson O’Brien (Jason), Chase Lawson (Haley), Eric Broyles, 2 great-grandchildren Charlie & Lyla O’Brien, cousin/brother Tom Spangler (Phyllis), brother-in-law Woody Pack, nephews Austin Bryant and Mark Bryant (Shawn).

Visitation will be at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 1:00pm – 3:00pm with a funeral beginning at 3:00pm led by Pastor Ricky Green. Pallbearers are John Lawson, Chase Lawson, Eric Broyles, Jason O’Brien, Mark Bryant, Austin Bryant, and honorary pallbearer Charlie O’Brien.

There will be a private burial at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.

In lieu of flowers, GaGa would love you to support the NEMS Backpack Program or the Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Shoebox Program. We would like to thank Commonwealth Senior Living in Christiansburg (too many to name but every single one of you were amazing…GaGa said many times “we need to tell more people about this place because it’s that great”) and staff at Medi-Hospice (especially Jacqui who was our rock and Kiera who always saw the best in everyone).
