Sons of the American Revolution Will Rotate Meetings
Since its chartering in 1998, the New River Valley Chapter-Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) has held its meeting in Pearisburg, VA. The members recently voted to begin rotating the monthly meetings between Pulaski, Montgomery, and Giles counties beginning in October 2017. We are excited to announce our first meeting in Dublin, VA on October 23 at 6:30 PM at the Lions Club building on Dunlap Road.
The New River Valley Chapter-Sons of the American Revolution serves the New River Valley area and has members from Giles, Pulaski, Floyd, Montgomery, and Roanoke Counties in Virginia and Monroe County in West Virginia. Our Chapter represents the National Society Sons of the American Revolution which is the largest male lineage fraternal and civic society in the United States. SAR members are any male, regardless of age, who is of lineal descent of an ancestor who supported the war for American Independence.
The purposes of the SAR are patriotism, preserving and celebrating our nation’s history, and educating our youth. The New River Valley Chapter invites those who believe they may be eligible for membership to join us at our meeting in Dublin or contact Terry Blevins at 434-579-9279 for more information.
