Snider, Hulda Fisher
Hulda Fisher Snider of Newport, Virginia gained her angel wings on April 1st, just 5 days shy of being 101 years old. Hulda was an inspiration to everyone that knew her. She had a funny sense of humor and a very competitive drive with everything she did.
She spent 40 years with the love of her life, Dillard Calvin Snider before his passing in 1988. She was a godly woman and was a member of Level Green Christian Church all her life serving as a Sunday school teacher until she was in her 90’s. She raised a beautiful family including 4 children that adored her. Her 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren thought the sun set with their Meemaw.
Hulda was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Calvin Snider, her parents, Luther and Emily Fisher, brothers, Orsborne Fisher (Dorrence), Harold Fisher (Talma), and Dallas Fisher (Sarah), sister, Ressie Thomas (Everett).
She is survived by her children, Gail Davis (Glenn), Penny Layne (Barry), Keith Snider (Janis) and Kim Raymond (Bobby). Grandchildren, Seth Snider (Jenna), Danielle Raymond (Damiun), Dylan Raymond (Kendra) and Makayla Snider. Great Grandchildren, Bella Snider, Skylah Raymond, Blakely Raymond and Haevyn Raymond. Sisters, Hazel Lipes and Frances Lafon and a special sister-in-law, Sarah Fisher. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
We are so thankful for all of her wonderful caregivers throughout the past 3 years. Mary Williams, Sharon Brunk, Nikki Brookman, Pam Brickey, Bobbi Hunter, Paula Adams, Chasity Spence and the late Phyllis Wright. These caregivers loved our mom with all their heart and took such great care of her. We would also like to thank Heritage Hall of Rich Creek for the incredible care they gave our mother. They treated her as if she was their family and loved her just the same. We could not have asked for better people to care for our mom. Thank you to Gentiva Hospice for their care and making sure our family was cared for as well.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 5th from 6-8 pm and celebration of life on Monday, April 6th at 2:00 at Level Green Christian Church with McCoy Funeral Home handling the arrangements. Donations can be made in her honor to Level Green Christian Church.
