Slippery Spots and Fog Will Impact Travel

Patchy Fog And Black Ice May Impact Travel This Morning. In-spite of air temperatures being above freezing, the ground is
still froze from the sub-freezing temperatures we have had the last 2 weeks. As such, the rain and sleet from yesterday has congealed into a layer of ice for some areas. Untreated roads, parking lots, and sidewalks, may be extremely icy this morning, and will remain that way until the sun comes up and aids in the melting process.

In addition, there is some patchy areas of fog, which may limit the visibility in some areas. The lowest visibilities were being reported across the upper Tennessee Valley near Marion and Richlands, Virginia, and across northern Virginia toward Washington DC.
