Simpson, Marissa Rose

Marissa Rose Simpson, 24, of Christiansburg passed away peacefully Sunday, February 15, 2026, after a brief illness. She was born on November 5, 2001 in Christiansburg VA.

Marissa enjoyed dancing to BTS and cheering for Christiansburg High School. She loved going to McDonalds, 7Brew and Starbucks. She loved her family and her dog Piper. She loved all her special friends.

Marissa was a 2020 graduate of Christiansburg High as well as a 2024 graduate of Radford University. Marissa was known throughout the community and loved by all who knew her.

Marissa is survived by her mom and dad, Chris and Marsha Simpson; her sister, Savanna (Payton and Taylor Stancil); aunts, Tina and Rhonda Foster; grandmother, Pearlie Foster. Marissa was preceeded in death by grandmother Willa Simpson; grandpa Joe Simpson; grandparents Jerry Foster and Herbert Rutherford.

The Simpson family would like express sincere thanks to Carilion Clinic Hospice, and will receive family and friends on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 4:00-6:00 at Horne Funeral Home.
