Simpson, Jeanie May 4Jeanie May Simpson, born on May 27, 1935, in Pulaski County, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on February 19, 2024, at the age of 88 in Christiansburg, Virginia.

Throughout her life, Jeanie loved to play tennis, paint ceramics, bask in the sun, walk on the beach, play cards, crochet, work puzzles, and spend time with her family. Most of all reading the Bible or devotionals growing her relationship with the Lord. She was also known for her exceptional skills as a seamstress.

Jeanie will be dearly missed by her surviving family members: Mary Boyd (Sister), Judy and Mark Buckner (Sister and Brother-in-Law), Don and Alicia Leonard (Son and Daughter-in-Law), Doug Leonard (Son), David and Michelle Leonard (Son and Daughter-in-Law), Debra and Rick Craven (Daughter and Son-in-Law), along with her grandchildren Joshua Leonard, Jessica Owen, Dustin Leonard, Elizabeth Howery, Tori Leonard, Alex Leonard, Logan Craven, Devin Craven, and Morgan McCroskey and great-grandchildren Parker Anderson, Ashton Anderson, Lacie Anderson, Jayce Leonard, Callie Leonard, Daxton Leonard, Ellis Howery, Harper McCroskey, Aria Craven, and Maia Craven.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Simpson, her mother, Cecil Simpson, her brother Paul (Jimmy) Simpson, Jr., her sister Dorothy Thornton, her brother Bobby Simpson, her daughter Terry Rae Leonard, and a few others.

Jeanie attended Dublin High School and later pursued a career at Burlington Industries as a Secretary and at Walmart as a Cashier for over 30 years. She worshipped at the Cambria Pentecostal Holiness Church.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Cambria Pentecostal Holiness on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 5:00 pm, located at 915 Montgomery Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Jeanie’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
