Simms, Preston Andrew
Preston Andrew Simms, 43, of Dublin, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a five-year battle with congestive heart failure. His final weeks were spent in the excellent care of the RMH Palliative Care and Hospice staff and surrounded by family and friends sharing stories, laughs and love.
He is survived by his mother and her husband, Jeanne Flinchum Jones (Gary); father, Robert “Bob” Preston Simms; sister, Stacy Simms; step-sisters, Kelly Schelling and Kimberly Guinness; nieces and nephews, Lily Schelling, Jack Schelling, Bryce Guinness and Maizy Guiness; and many other relatives and special friends.
The family is honoring Preston’s request to forego funeral a traditional memorial service. A celebration of his life will be held in the coming weeks for his close family and friends.

I’m glad you came and seen me and I took me to sit on that big old rock. I’m gonna miss u so much I cnt Believe ur actually gone. u had a good heart and and u were funny sometimes. I love you man I’ve been wondering about u and had tried to msg u. I was hoping I’d hear from u and we would get to hang out. thank u for being my friend and helping me more than u realize. u helped my confidence u were always fun to be around thank you for that lake day. I hated if I missed ur after party I know u wanted a big old get together and drinks and laughs. I hate u r gone I’m truly gonna miss our friendship but I’m glad ur not in pain anymore. ill love u forever thank u for being who u were and always building me up and loving me even in my hardest of times. I’ve been missing u wondering why u didnt answer back I just thought u had someone. rest easy have fun look over me and rj and clear ur calendar when it’s my time to come bc u own me a date sir so we can catch up on each other and gossip about everyone else. I’ll never have another friendship like ours until I see u again man I’ll think of u always…
