Shelor, Terry Lee
Terry Lee Shelor, 74, of Christiansburg sadly left our world on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, while surrounded by his family.
He will be deeply missed by those he left behind to cherish his memory. Wife, Janice Shelor, of 39 years; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Travis Christian, Carol Shelor, Dolly and Brian Adkins; sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Marie Price, Ronald and Sandra Bland; 16 special grandchildren; 30 special great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Queenie Shelor; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Dwight Price. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that he loved dearly. Including a special first wife and mother of his daughters Linda C. Dowdy.
Terry was a genuine guy, he never met a stranger, in turn he gained lifelong lasting friendships with many. Those friends were important and meaningful to him. Terry worked at Thompson Tire for many years before he decided to retire. But he couldn’t sit still. He then went on to work part time at Advance Auto Parts, but his illness forced him to sit still. During his battle and sickness, his friends and family were there to support and encourage him along the way. Terry fought that battle with strength and determination, and he won the victory, with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He was predeceased by his two sons, Marshall Bland and William Bland. His parents Claude and Ruby Shelor; brothers, Frank Shelor and Robert Shelor; and sister Mary Shelor Collins.
The family would like to thank the Carilion Hospice Team foremost Amanda and Jessica; LewisGale ENT – Dr. Nelson and Cindy Gusler; and Blue Ridge Cancer Care – Dr. Goldschmidt for all the love and care given to Terry.
Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Keith Linkous officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm before the service on Sunday, September 29, 2024.
