Second winter weather advisory for the weekend

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON TODAY AND AGAIN FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 AM EST SUNDAY.

* WHAT…For the first Winter Weather Advisory, freezing rain. Additional ice accumulations of a light glaze. For the second Winter Weather Advisory, mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of up to three tenths of an inch.

* WHERE…Portions of south central, southwest and west central Virginia and southeast West Virginia.

* WHEN…For the first Winter Weather Advisory, until noon EST today. For the second Winter Weather Advisory, from 9 PM this evening to 7 AM EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS…Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible power outages.
