Roop, Bobby William 2Bobby William Roop ‘Pawpaw”, 92 of Christiansburg, passed away November 24, 2025. He was born on May 29, 1933 to the late C. F. Roop and Willie Farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 9 siblings; wife, Bernice Roop; son, Wilbur Roop; and daughter, Barbara Freeman.

Bobby is survived by his sons, Tommy Roop, Parker Roop; daughters, Robyn Spinaci, Jackie Lear; grandchildren, Brady Roop, Chad Spinaci, Craig Spinaci, Crystal Spinaci-Mezei, Timmy Linkous, John Lear, Dee-Dee Barnes, Sherry Nelson, Timmy Lytton, Stephanie Marshall, Wil Oldham, Tia Oldham, Ryan Oldham, Dewayne Allen; as well as 24 great-grandchildren.

Bobby was a machinist by trade. He worked several years for several years for Federal Motors as a machinist. He retired from Precision Tool in Salem.

Bobby had many hobbies – gardening, woodworking, fishing, canning, grilling and landscaping. He was a jack-of-all-trades and could build and fix anything.

Bobby was a role model to his children and grandchildren. He taught us many life lessons, one in particular is to take pride in your work. His wisdom and skill will be greatly cherished and missed by many.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 10-11 a.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 11 a.m. in the Chapel, with Pastor Sebert Rorrer officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
