Roman, Sarah M.
Sarah M. Roman, aged 61, of Blacksburg, VA, went to be with the Lord on July 15, 2024. Born on May 2, 1963, Sarah was a beloved daughter, sister, partner, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Sarah is survived by her life partner of over 30 years, Randy Sult; her daughter and son-in-law, Kaitlyn and Michael Minnick and their two children, Natalie and Wyatt, with their third child on the way; her sister and brother-in-law, Gayle Roman Cook and Curtis Cook; and nephews, Vincent W. Price, Justin H. Price, and Shawn Cruise. She is also remembered fondly by her extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles W. Roman Sr. and her mother Bobbie R. Roman; her sister, Debbie R. Cruise; and her brother, Charles “Bud” W. Roman Jr.
Sarah graduated Blacksburg High School in 1980, a year early. She became a clerical office worker at Montgomery County RSVP for approximately 13 years, before retiring due to worsening disabilities. Sarah has faced numerous health challenges with unparalleled bravery and strength. Despite these difficulties, she embraced life with a positive spirit and a deep love for her family and friends. Her strong Christian faith and love for the Lord were guiding lights in her life. Some of her greatest joys were spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. Sarah loved riding around town with her partner Randy, getting her hair done, cruising around their farm on four wheelers and golf carts, as well as feeding and caring for their farm animals, pets and wildlife. She was a sweet, kind soul who was a friend to anyone she met.
Sarah’s unwavering courage and enduring love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will cherish the moments and love they shared with her.
We invite you to join us in honoring the memory of Sarah. Visitation for friends and family will be held on Sunday, July 21, 1:00-2:00 pm at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr SW, Blacksburg, Virginia. A funeral service will follow starting at 2:00 pm at the McCoy Funeral Home.
