Robertson, Kathryn Ramsey
Mary Kathryn “Kathy” Ramsey Robertson, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born July 15, 1957, in Pearisburg, VA, she was the daughter of Faye Foster Ramsey and the late James Marshall Ramsey.
Kathy was a member of the Peterstown Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as the church clerk. While attending New River Community College, she was a member of Phi Beta Lambda. After school, she worked as the in-house accountant for BCR Property Management, working in their Blacksburg and Radford offices for over twenty years. She most recently worked at Allen’s Furniture in Rich Creek, VA. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed genealogy. She was an avid reader who loved crafting and cooking. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dean Ramsey; maternal grandparents, Charles E. and Bertha Saunders Foster; and paternal grandparents, Hobert and Nannie Pack Ramsey.
In addition to her mother, those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Nancy Kornegay and husband Terry; sister-in-law, Janet Ramsey; special sister, Karen Lawrence; special niece, Jaclyn Considine and husband Tom, and their children, Caffrey and Teagan; special nephew, Jim Ramsey and wife Rachel, and their children, Maggie and Jack; and several extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor John Peña officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30AM until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Peterstown Missionary Baptist Church (277 Market Street, Peterstown, WV 24963).
